Happy 2nd Birthday

The greatest love of all is a child's love
To love your child and have them love you back

Two years ago I experienced the greatest love. A small bundle, warm and hungry, was laid on my chest. The love I had longed to have, was finally here, Mason Koa had finally arrived. It's hard to believe that two years have passed. That small little baby, is now a running, talking, jumping ball of energy, full of hugs and kisses. "I do it" is the new favorite phrase, independence, he is not lacking. My little baby is now a boy, a curious, boisterous, tender hearted boy.

Happy Birthday Mason

Halloween 2009 - Giraffe

This was Mason's first time Trick or Treating. Last year, he was less than a year old and really had no interested. This year was a different story. He loved getting dressed up and would not give up his candy bucket, for anything. After our Trick or Treating in Scituate Harbor, he was thrilled to be home and count his loot. He wasn't interested in eating the candy, counting it was enough fun for him. I'm sure next year will be a different story.

surprisingly, he wasn't afraid of anything.
Spider rings...cool

Our family

We recently had some family photos taken at a local beach. The weather was perfect, so I was so excited. Unfortunately, Mason had a different idea. He spent the majority of the shoot, trying to look at anything other than the camera. Regardless, Natalie and Margie did a great job and we got a few awesome pictures.

The bike

The newest addition to the house is Mason's bike. Boy does he love this, from the minute he gets up, until bedtime, you will find him riding through the house. The dogs are still getting used to the bike, since now, they are constantly being chased down by the new wheels.

A day on the river

One of Mason's favorite things to do, is throw rocks into water. It doesn't really have to be much water, a small puddle in the yard will do. So when Dada takes him down to the river to throw rocks, it's truly a dream come true. This day rocks were replaced with acorns. With fall here, there is an abundance of them. With a bucket full of acorns Mason and Dada headed down to the dock...Moose and Otis tagged along.

Another Chef in the kitchen

It has been too long and there are many pictures to share, including a recent visit from Papa and Gamma. But today's little adventure was too cute not to share, now. With the wind ripping through the trees, it was a great day to stay inside and bake. As soon as Mason saw the measuring spoons and cups come out, he wanted to help. Well, instead of submitting my banana bread to Mason's measuring, I decided he could cook something up, himself. With a little sugar, flour, raisins, chocolate chips and spaghetti noodles(his secret ingredient), he was off scooping, pouring and stirring. He did great and there was only a small mess to clean up!

A Day with Thomas the Train

Today was Mason's day out with Thomas the Train. It was an early morning and one filled with lots of anticipation.
It was a beautiful day and yes the highway was this empty...boy we don't miss LA traffic!
though it was only a 30 minute drive, Mason decided he needed a power nap
The first time he heard the train....it's coming, it's coming!
Chasing the train
The conductor waving Hello!

this will be his first train ride...the anticipation!
looking for frogs in the ponds we passed
after the train ride, it was time for some other rides...Mason's first carnival ride
that's us, way up high
Mason got to ride this one alone...very exciting
then the carousel

It was a great day and we hope to visit Edaville again, soon!
